stay-cation

last weekend we had a mini stay-cation/family weekend. we went to the zoo, a splash pad and the childrens museum.

the zoo was fun. claire really enjoyed watching some penguins swim but i think her favorite part was pushing her stroller. this girl i tell ya. she loves to push her stroller and carts in the grocery store. man on man she just loves it! and let me tell you, shes pretty strong too, pushing the shopping carts with groceries in them. now we just gotta teach her to steer and watch where she goes.

we thought she would enjoy the splash pad a bit more than she did but maybe it was because we were the only ones there? who knows.

and the childrens museum. surprisingly there were more things for her to do than i thought. they had an entire room/exhibit for kids under 4 years old. she loved climbing the rope ladder, going down the slide and just climbing in general.

todays letter is c

c is for cardigans and climbing. and of course claire.

just had to share these pictures. im lovin claire in cardigans. (thanks to some inspiration from emma on her birthday) claire has really taken a liking to this chair lately. when it gets quiet in the house, half the time she can be found just sitting in her chair. lounging. the ex-dance liner in me hopes her flexibility stays like this...

and then climbing. man on man has she gotten some muscle & climbing ability. it amazes me that she knows to bring this little push toy to the side of the couch or the gate & can climb up on it.

new friends...

so i've recently found some new friends.
five to be exact.
let me introduce you.
lily, marshall, ted, robin & barney

aka how i met your mother. id seen a few episodes here and there before and thought it was good so i decided i better start from the beginning. so thanks to netflix, season one was just completed this past weekend. only 5 more seasons to go to catch up. i just wish netflix could send  these dvds a lot quicker. cuz im gettin obsessed. slightly.

wanna know something else im slightly obsessed with? it also has the number 5 in common. instead of 5 new friends, ive got 5 new favorite numbers. 8-9-1-0-9. just sayin...

its august. whoa. where did the summer go? not much house work planned for the rest of the summer...because of a little thing called money. and being burnt out. and we've got plans. lots a plans. we've got work. and bachelor parties. (ok really thats just the hubs but you know). and weddings. and our first anniversary. and relay for life. and hopefully an august resolution = twins game. and probably somethings im forgetting. so moral of the story there wont be as many posts. and they most likely wont be house related. but such is life i guess. and thats what this blog is about. our everyday lives*. or something like that. *dont worry we wont bore you with our actual everyday lives...like laundry, cleaning etc. i will try to keep it interesting. key word: try.

done-zo...

done. finished. time out. break.

thats whats going on here. turns out i was fed up and getting frustrated with projects around the house. and so its been decided that i need to take a break. which is really hard for me. especially with unfinished projects looking at me every day. like putting some floating shelves up in the kitchen. or painting the railing. but in order to keep some sanity...it must happen. i guess it doesnt hurt that we are also out of project money so we actually cant do much in the project department.

it was also super frustrating to have to live with this...

...clutter and a bunch of stuff in random places that you frequent a lot. like the kitchen counter. or having tools lying all around the living room floor. or having a bunch of stuff in spare rooms. or just stuff not in a good home. which if you know me, drives me crazy! :) but all in due time. all in due time. right? (at least i hope so)

so i guess you are just stuck waiting for new posts. hopefully we will be able to do some of the things on our 'to do list'. we do have a lot to look forward too coming up...weddings, bachelor parties, our first anniversary and im sure some other things will pop up too.

any suggestions on posts you want to see? info you want to know? things for us to do? let us know!
